Disclaimer
Effective Date: February 16, 2026 | Last Updated: March 1, 2026
Important: Please read this Disclaimer carefully before using CarScreener. By accessing or using our website and services, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by this Disclaimer in its entirety. If you do not agree with any part of this Disclaimer, you must not use our services.
1. General Disclaimer
The information, reports, and content provided by CarScreener (the "Service"), operated by Evengrid B.V. ("we," "us," "our," or the "Company"), are provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis strictly for general informational and educational purposes only.
Nothing contained in or delivered through the Service constitutes, or is intended to constitute, professional advice of any kind, including but not limited to automotive, mechanical, financial, legal, insurance, or tax advice. The Service is not a substitute for independent professional advice tailored to your specific circumstances.
You should always seek the advice of qualified professionals before making any decisions relating to the purchase, sale, financing, insuring, or registration of a vehicle. We expressly disclaim any responsibility for decisions made or actions taken in reliance upon information provided through the Service.
Warning: CarScreener reports are informational aids only. They are not a guarantee, warranty, certification, or endorsement of any vehicle. Always conduct your own independent due diligence before purchasing any vehicle.
2. Nature of AI Verification Service
CarScreener is an AI-powered used car listing verification tool. Users may submit a car listing URL or describe a vehicle, and our system generates a verification report by cross-referencing available data sources, analysing listing photographs, and applying artificial intelligence algorithms.
What the Service Is
- An automated informational tool that aggregates and analyses publicly available data and user-submitted listing information.
- A supplementary research aid intended to assist consumers in making more informed decisions about used vehicle purchases.
- A technology platform that provides AI-generated observations and analysis based on available data at a specific point in time.
What the Service Is Not
- A vehicle inspection service, certification programme, or warranty provider.
- A substitute for a comprehensive, hands-on mechanical inspection by a qualified automotive professional.
- A guarantee, endorsement, or certification of any vehicle's condition, history, safety, roadworthiness, legality, or value.
- A licensed automotive advisory, brokerage, or dealership service.
- A replacement for independent legal, financial, or insurance advice.
Service Tiers: CarScreener offers three service tiers: Quick Check (free), Full Report (first report free, then £7.99/€8.99; see our
Terms of Service §8.2 for current pricing), and Professional Inspection (from £89/€99, available on request and subject to Inspector coverage in your area). All payments are processed securely via Stripe. The limitations set out in this Disclaimer apply to all tiers.
3. AI-Generated Content Disclaimer
Our reports contain content that is generated, in whole or in part, by artificial intelligence systems. You acknowledge and agree that:
- AI is not infallible. AI-generated content may contain errors, inaccuracies, omissions, misinterpretations, or outdated information. AI systems can produce incorrect or misleading outputs, sometimes referred to as "hallucinations."
- AI has inherent limitations. AI analysis is constrained by the quality, completeness, and accuracy of the input data it receives. AI cannot replicate human judgement, expertise, or the ability to physically inspect a vehicle.
- AI outputs are advisory only. All AI-generated observations, risk assessments, condition estimates, and recommendations are advisory in nature and should be treated as starting points for further investigation, not as definitive conclusions.
- AI models evolve. The AI models and algorithms we use are continually updated and refined. Results for the same input may vary over time as our models change.
- No guarantee of completeness. AI analysis may not identify all relevant issues, risks, defects, or discrepancies associated with a vehicle or listing.
Advisory: You must not treat any AI-generated content in our reports as established fact without independent verification. We strongly recommend verifying all material findings through independent professional inspection and official data sources.
4. Government Data Disclaimer
CarScreener cross-references vehicle data against official government records, including but not limited to:
- United Kingdom: MOT (Ministry of Transport) test history and DVLA (Driver and Vehicle Licensing Agency) vehicle registration records.
- Netherlands: RDW (Rijksdienst voor het Wegverkeer) vehicle registration data and APK (Algemene Periodieke Keuring) inspection history.
You acknowledge and agree that:
- Government data is sourced from publicly available APIs and databases maintained by third-party government agencies. We do not control, maintain, or verify the accuracy of these data sources.
- Government data may be delayed, incomplete, inaccurate, or not up to date at the time of your query. There may be a lag between events (e.g., a vehicle passing an MOT test or APK inspection) and their reflection in government databases.
- Government records may not capture all relevant information about a vehicle's history, condition, or legal status. Records may be missing, incorrect, or incomplete due to administrative errors, data migration issues, or reporting delays.
- We do not guarantee the accuracy, completeness, timeliness, or reliability of any government-sourced data presented in our reports.
- Changes to government APIs, data formats, or availability may affect the data we can retrieve and display, sometimes without prior notice.
- You should independently verify any critical government data through official channels (e.g., the MOT history service at gov.uk, RDW at rdw.nl) before relying on it for any purpose.
- If government data sources are temporarily unavailable at the time of your request, your report will be generated using available data only. The absence of government data in a report does not mean no issues exist — it means we were unable to retrieve official records at the time of generation.
5. No Vehicle Guarantees
Critical Notice: CarScreener does not guarantee, warrant, certify, or endorse the condition, quality, safety, roadworthiness, legality, ownership status, mileage accuracy, accident history, flood or fire damage history, or value of any vehicle analysed through our Service.
Without limiting the generality of the foregoing, we make no guarantees regarding:
- The mechanical condition, structural integrity, or operational safety of any vehicle.
- Whether a vehicle has been involved in accidents, collisions, floods, fires, or other damaging events not reflected in available data.
- The accuracy of odometer readings or mileage figures.
- Whether a vehicle has outstanding finance, liens, encumbrances, or legal claims against it.
- Whether a vehicle has been stolen, cloned, written off, or is subject to any recall.
- Whether a vehicle complies with applicable emissions, safety, or roadworthiness standards.
- The suitability of any vehicle for any particular purpose.
- Whether information provided by a seller or listing platform is truthful, accurate, or complete.
- Future reliability, durability, or performance of any vehicle.
- The accuracy of any asking price or fair market value estimate.
A CarScreener report that does not identify issues with a vehicle does not mean that no issues exist. The absence of negative findings in a report should never be interpreted as a clean bill of health or endorsement.
6. Professional Inspection Limitations
CarScreener offers a Professional Inspection tier (from £89/€99, available on request and subject to Inspector coverage in your area) in which an independent contractor performs an on-site mechanical and visual inspection of a vehicle. This service is arranged manually and is not available through automated booking. You acknowledge and agree that:
- Independent contractors. Professional inspectors engaged through CarScreener are independent contractors, not employees, agents, or representatives of Evengrid B.V. We do not directly supervise, control, or direct the manner in which inspections are performed.
- No employment relationship. The engagement of inspectors through our platform does not create any employment, agency, partnership, or joint venture relationship between inspectors and Evengrid B.V.
- Scope limitations. Physical inspections are visual and mechanical in nature. They are not exhaustive engineering assessments. Inspectors cannot disassemble vehicles, remove body panels, access sealed components, or perform destructive testing.
- Hidden defects. Inspections cannot detect all defects, particularly those that are concealed, intermittent, latent, or not apparent during a standard inspection. Examples include but are not limited to: internal engine or transmission defects, hidden rust or corrosion beneath panels, intermittent electrical faults, concealed structural damage, and issues that only manifest under specific driving conditions or over time.
- Environmental factors. Inspection quality may be affected by weather conditions, lighting, location access, vehicle cleanliness, and other environmental factors beyond our control.
- Point-in-time assessment. An inspection reflects the condition of a vehicle at a specific moment. Vehicle condition can change rapidly due to use, accidents, mechanical failure, or other events occurring after an inspection.
- No warranty or guarantee. An inspection report, even a favourable one, does not constitute a warranty, guarantee, or certification of a vehicle's condition, safety, or fitness for purpose.
- Inspector qualifications. While we endeavour to engage qualified and experienced inspectors, we do not guarantee the qualifications, certifications, or competence of any individual inspector.
- No liability for inspector actions. We are not responsible for any acts, omissions, errors, negligence, or misconduct of any inspector.
7. Listing Photo Analysis Limitations
CarScreener uses AI to analyse photographs from vehicle listings to identify potential issues such as damage, paint mismatches, excessive wear, and other visual anomalies. You acknowledge and agree that:
- Photo quality dependency. The accuracy and usefulness of AI photo analysis depends entirely on the quality, resolution, lighting, angle, and completeness of the photographs provided in a listing. Low-quality, poorly lit, or limited photographs significantly reduce the effectiveness of analysis.
- Concealed damage. AI photo analysis cannot detect damage, defects, or modifications that are not visible in the provided photographs. Sellers may intentionally or unintentionally omit photographs that reveal issues.
- Photographic manipulation. Photographs may have been digitally altered, filtered, enhanced, cropped, or otherwise manipulated in ways that conceal defects or misrepresent the vehicle's appearance. While our AI attempts to detect such manipulation, it cannot guarantee detection in all cases.
- Lighting and angle limitations. Certain types of damage, paint work, body filler, rust, or wear are only visible under specific lighting conditions or from particular angles that may not be represented in listing photographs.
- False positives and negatives. AI photo analysis may incorrectly flag issues that do not exist (false positives) or fail to identify real issues (false negatives). Reflections, shadows, dirt, water spots, and photographic artefacts can all affect AI interpretation.
- Interior and undercarriage. Listing photographs typically do not provide adequate views of a vehicle's undercarriage, engine bay interior, boot/trunk lining, or other areas where significant issues may be present.
- No substitute for physical inspection. AI photo analysis is intended as a preliminary screening tool only. It is not a substitute for a thorough, in-person visual and mechanical inspection of a vehicle.
8. Third-Party Information Disclaimer
Our Service incorporates, references, or analyses information from various third-party sources, including but not limited to:
- Online vehicle listing platforms and classified advertisement websites.
- Government databases and public records (as detailed in Section 4).
- Vehicle manufacturers' published specifications and recall information.
- Seller-provided descriptions, photographs, and claims.
- Payment processing services (Stripe).
We do not control, verify, endorse, or assume responsibility for the accuracy, completeness, timeliness, or reliability of any third-party information. Third-party content may be inaccurate, misleading, outdated, or fraudulent. We disclaim all liability arising from your reliance on any third-party information accessed through or referenced in our Service.
The inclusion of any third-party information in our reports does not imply our endorsement of, or affiliation with, any third-party provider, seller, dealer, or platform.
9. Not Professional Advice
The Service and all reports, content, and information provided through it do not constitute and must not be construed as:
- Mechanical or automotive advice. Our reports are not a substitute for a professional mechanical inspection by a qualified automotive technician or engineer.
- Legal advice. We do not provide advice regarding vehicle ownership, title disputes, consumer rights, contractual obligations, insurance claims, or any other legal matter. Consult a qualified solicitor or lawyer for legal advice.
- Financial advice. We do not provide advice regarding vehicle valuation, financing, investment, or any financial decision. Consult a qualified financial adviser for financial advice.
- Insurance advice. We do not advise on insurance coverage, claims, premiums, or adequacy. Consult a qualified insurance broker or adviser.
- Tax advice. We do not provide advice on vehicle-related taxes, duties, VAT, or any other fiscal matters. Consult a qualified tax adviser or accountant.
Note: Always engage qualified, licensed professionals for advice specific to your circumstances before making significant financial decisions such as purchasing a vehicle.

Read Carefully: This section limits our liability to you. By using our services, you agree to these limitations.
To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law:
10.1 Exclusion of Warranties
The Service is provided "as is" and "as available" without any warranties of any kind, whether express, implied, statutory, or otherwise. We expressly disclaim all implied warranties, including but not limited to implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy, completeness, non-infringement, and any warranties arising from course of dealing or usage of trade.
10.2 Cap on Liability
Our total aggregate liability to you for any and all claims arising out of or in connection with the Service, whether in contract, tort (including negligence), strict liability, or any other legal theory, shall not exceed the greater of: (a) the total amount you have paid to us for the specific report or service giving rise to the claim during the twelve (12) months immediately preceding the event giving rise to the claim; or (b) one hundred euros (€100).
10.3 Exclusion of Consequential Damages
In no event shall Evengrid B.V., its directors, officers, employees, contractors, agents, affiliates, or licensors be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, punitive, or exemplary damages, including but not limited to:
- Loss of profits, revenue, business, or anticipated savings.
- Loss of data or goodwill.
- Cost of procurement of substitute goods or services.
- Any loss or damage arising from a vehicle purchase or sale decision made in connection with our reports.
- Repair costs, diminished vehicle value, or mechanical failures.
- Personal injury or property damage arising from the use of a vehicle analysed through our Service.
- Damages arising from seller fraud, misrepresentation, or misconduct.
- Damages arising from inspector errors, omissions, or misconduct.
- Damages arising from AI-generated content or recommendations.
- Any other loss or damage of any kind, however caused and regardless of the theory of liability.
These limitations apply even if we have been advised of the possibility of such damages and regardless of whether any limited remedy fails of its essential purpose.
10.4 Basis of the Bargain
You acknowledge that the pricing of our Service reflects the allocation of risk set forth in this Disclaimer, including the limitations of liability and the disclaimers of warranties, and that these provisions form an essential basis of the bargain between you and us.
10.5 Exceptions
Nothing in this Disclaimer excludes or limits liability that cannot legally be excluded under Dutch law or other applicable mandatory law, including liability for:
- Fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation by Evengrid B.V.
- Death or personal injury caused by our negligence.
- Any other liability that cannot be excluded or limited by applicable mandatory law.
