Welcome to CarScreener. These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of our website at carscreener.ai and all related services, features, and content (collectively, the “Service”). The Service is accessible at carscreener.ai and report.carscreener.ai. Please read these Terms carefully before using the Service.
BY ACCESSING OR USING THE SERVICE, YOU ACKNOWLEDGE THAT YOU HAVE READ, UNDERSTOOD, AND AGREE TO BE BOUND BY THESE TERMS AND OUR PRIVACY POLICY. IF YOU DO NOT AGREE TO THESE TERMS, YOU MUST NOT ACCESS OR USE THE SERVICE.
For the purposes of these Terms, the following capitalised terms shall have the meanings set out below:
CarScreener is an AI-powered used car listing verification tool. Users submit a car listing URL or describe a vehicle, and the Service cross-checks the information against official government data sources and applies AI analysis to generate a Verification Report. The Service is designed to help consumers make more informed decisions about used vehicles.
The Service is offered in three tiers:
The Quick Check provides:
Quick Checks are free of charge and require only a listing URL or car description. Quick Check results are delivered on-screen immediately after analysis.
The Full Report includes everything in the Quick Check, plus:
Full Reports are delivered on-screen immediately after payment. We intend to offer downloadable PDF reports and email delivery in a future update.
Full pricing details, including any promotional pricing, are set out in Section 8.2 below. The standard price is £7.99 / €8.99 per report. Your first Full Report is free as part of our introductory offer — see Section 8.2.
Where available, the Professional Inspection includes everything in the Full Report, plus:
The exact scope, deliverables, and timeframe depend on the Inspector and are agreed directly between you and the Inspector.
Indicative pricing (subject to Inspector availability and confirmation):
The Service supports car listings from various third-party online vehicle listing platforms in our supported markets. When you submit a listing URL, the URL is passed at your direction through our hosting and AI gateway infrastructure (Vercel) to third-party AI analysis providers (see Section 5.5), which access the publicly available information at that URL in order to extract and analyse the listing data. CarScreener does not independently scrape, crawl, index, or systematically collect data from third-party listing platforms. The Service may also accept manual car descriptions, uploaded photographs, and direct license plate lookups where available.
The current list of supported listing platforms is displayed on our website and may change at any time without prior notice. CarScreener is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or partnered with any third-party listing platform unless expressly stated otherwise.
The Service is currently available in the United Kingdom and the Netherlands. Government data sources, pricing, supported listing sites, and Inspector availability vary by market. We make no representations regarding the availability, accuracy, or completeness of the Service outside these territories.
Professional Inspection availability is subject to Inspector coverage in specific regions within our supported markets. We reserve the right to decline Professional Inspection requests in areas where we do not have adequate Inspector coverage.
You must be at least 18 years old and possess the legal capacity to enter into binding contracts under applicable law. By using the Service, you represent and warrant that you meet these requirements.
You agree to provide accurate, current, and complete information when using the Service, including but not limited to listing URLs, vehicle descriptions, license plate numbers, email addresses, and any other data submitted through the Platform. You are solely responsible for the accuracy of the information you provide. Inaccurate information may result in incomplete, misleading, or unusable Verification Reports, for which we bear no liability.
You agree not to use the Service:
CarScreener uses artificial intelligence and machine learning models to analyse car listing data, photographs, and government records. AI-generated content within Verification Reports — including risk scores, recommendations, pricing assessments, and photo analysis — is produced by automated systems and is advisory in nature only.
Portions of Verification Reports are generated by AI systems. AI systems may produce errors, omissions, hallucinations, or inaccurate conclusions. Risk scores, recommendations, and pricing estimates are statistical assessments based on available data and should be treated as one input among many in your decision-making process. CarScreener does not guarantee the accuracy, completeness, or reliability of any AI-generated content.
CarScreener uses third-party artificial intelligence services, accessed through our AI gateway infrastructure, to perform analysis. Our AI requests are routed through Vercel AI Gateway, which acts as our data processor for AI-related processing. The AI models accessed through this gateway include, but are not limited to:
When you submit a listing URL, the URL is transmitted through the Vercel AI Gateway to the relevant AI provider, which accesses the publicly available listing page to extract and analyse its content at your direction. If you upload photographs separately, those images are similarly transmitted through the gateway to the AI providers for analysis.
For more information, see our Privacy Policy.
CarScreener’s AI systems are classified as limited-risk AI systems under the EU Artificial Intelligence Act (Regulation (EU) 2024/1689). They are subject to transparency obligations under Article 50 of the Act, which we fulfil as follows:
The Service retrieves and cross-references vehicle data from the following publicly available government data sources:
The government data we access is publicly available information provided by the respective government agencies. We act as an intermediary that retrieves, aggregates, and presents this data in a user-friendly format alongside our AI analysis.
While we endeavour to present government data accurately, we do not control, verify, or guarantee the accuracy, completeness, timeliness, or reliability of data provided by government agencies. Government records may contain errors, omissions, or delays. Data may not reflect the most recent tests, registrations, or changes to a vehicle's status. You acknowledge that:
CarScreener acts exclusively as an introducer and referral service that connects car buyers with independent vehicle inspection professionals (“Inspectors”). When you request a Professional Inspection through our Platform (currently via WhatsApp or email), we introduce you to a suitable Inspector in your area. Any inspection arrangement is a direct contract between you and the Inspector. Evengrid B.V. is not a party to that contract and acts solely as an introducer — not as the supplier, provider, or trader of the inspection service itself.
Inspectors we refer you to typically offer services such as a multi-point mechanical check, test drive, OBD diagnostic scan, underbody inspection, and a written report with photographs. However, the exact scope, pricing, deliverables, and timeframe are agreed directly between you and the Inspector.
You acknowledge and accept that:
You pay the Inspector directly for their services. CarScreener does not collect payment on behalf of Inspectors and does not charge a separate fee for the referral. Inspection pricing shown on our Platform is indicative only and subject to change by the Inspector.
All payments are processed securely through Stripe, a third-party payment processor. By making a payment, you agree to Stripe's Terms of Service and Privacy Policy. CarScreener does not store your full payment card details.
Current pricing for paid services:
The free first report offer is available for a limited period and may be withdrawn without prior notice. We reserve the right to modify pricing at any time. Price changes do not affect previously confirmed and paid orders. The price displayed at the time of your purchase is the price you will be charged.
All prices displayed on our website and at checkout are inclusive of applicable VAT (20% UK VAT for purchases in British Pounds; 21% Dutch BTW for purchases in Euros), unless the checkout page explicitly states otherwise. You are responsible for any additional taxes, duties, or levies applicable to your purchase in your jurisdiction.
Payments are charged in British Pounds Sterling (£) for UK customers and Euros (€) for Netherlands customers. Your bank or card issuer may apply currency conversion fees if your card is denominated in a different currency.
For EU consumers: In accordance with Article 16(m) of the EU Consumer Rights Directive (2011/83/EU), you will be asked before payment to expressly consent to the immediate provision of the digital content (your Full Report) and to acknowledge that you lose your right of withdrawal under Article 9 of the Directive once the digital content delivery has begun. This consent is recorded, and you will receive a confirmation on a durable medium (via email).
For UK consumers: In accordance with the Consumer Contracts (Information, Cancellation and Additional Charges) Regulations 2013, Regulation 37, you will be asked before payment to expressly consent to the immediate performance of the contract for the supply of digital content. You acknowledge that your right to cancel under the 14-day cooling-off period will be lost once the digital content has been fully provided.
For Professional Inspections: The CarScreener marketplace fee (which includes the Full Report and booking facilitation) is digital content subject to the same waiver above. The inspection fee payable to the Inspector is governed by your direct arrangement with the Inspector. If you cancel a booking after payment has been disbursed to the Inspector, any refund of the inspection fee is at the Inspector’s discretion. See Section 9.4 for details.
If you are dissatisfied with your Full Report for any reason, you may request a full refund within 14 days of report delivery by contacting us at contact@carscreener.ai. No reason is required.
To prevent abuse, the satisfaction guarantee is limited to one refund per customer per 90-day period. We reserve the right to refuse satisfaction guarantee refunds where we reasonably determine that the guarantee is being used in bad faith or in a manner inconsistent with its intended purpose.
If we are unable to generate your Verification Report due to technical issues, insufficient data from government sources, or other reasons within our control, you are entitled to a full refund of the amount paid for that specific report. This right is not subject to the 14-day limitation or the one-per-90-days restriction described in Section 9.1.
After the 14-day satisfaction guarantee period has expired, Full Reports are non-refundable. This includes situations where:
Professional Inspection bookings involve two components: the CarScreener marketplace fee (covering the Full Report and booking facilitation) and the Inspector’s fee (covering the on-site inspection). Refunds are handled as follows:
CarScreener marketplace fee:
Inspector’s fee:
To request a refund, contact us at contact@carscreener.ai with your email address and order details. We will review refund requests within 10 business days and process approved refunds via your original payment method through Stripe.
If you believe you are entitled to a refund that has been denied, you may escalate the matter through the dispute resolution procedures set out in Section 15 of these Terms.
The Service, including all content, features, functionality, software, designs, algorithms, AI models, text, graphics, logos, trademarks, and trade dress, is owned by Evengrid B.V. and is protected by Dutch, European Union, United Kingdom, and international intellectual property laws.
Subject to these Terms, we grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to access and use the Service for personal, non-commercial purposes related to evaluating used car purchases.
Upon payment (or, for Quick Checks, upon generation), you receive a non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to use your Verification Report for personal decision-making regarding the vehicle in question. You may share a Verification Report with a limited number of individuals for the purpose of seeking advice on a vehicle purchase (e.g., sharing with a family member or mechanic). You may not:
By submitting content to the Service — including listing URLs, vehicle descriptions, photographs, license plate numbers, and feedback — you grant us a limited, non-exclusive licence to use, process, and store such content solely for the purpose of generating your requested Verification Report and for the ancillary purposes of customer support, legal compliance, and dispute resolution. This licence is limited to the retention periods specified in our Privacy Policy.
You acknowledge that content submitted to the Service — including vehicle listing photographs, descriptions, and other materials sourced from third-party listing platforms — may be protected by the intellectual property rights of the original creators, sellers, or listing platforms. CarScreener does not claim ownership of any third-party content submitted through the Service.
You represent that your submission of content to the Service is for the legitimate purpose of obtaining a Verification Report. You acknowledge that any intellectual property rights in third-party listing content remain with the respective rights holders and that your submission of such content to the Service does not transfer any ownership rights to Evengrid B.V.
THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED “AS IS” AND “AS AVAILABLE” WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, WHETHER EXPRESS, IMPLIED, OR STATUTORY. TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, WE DISCLAIM ALL WARRANTIES INCLUDING, BUT NOT LIMITED TO:
WE DO NOT GUARANTEE, WARRANT, OR REPRESENT THE CONDITION, QUALITY, SAFETY, LEGALITY, ROADWORTHINESS, OR SUITABILITY OF ANY VEHICLE ANALYSED OR INSPECTED THROUGH THE SERVICE. VERIFICATION REPORTS REFLECT INFORMATION AND OBSERVATIONS AVAILABLE AT A SPECIFIC POINT IN TIME AND ARE NOT CERTIFICATIONS, APPRAISALS, OR WARRANTIES OF VEHICLE CONDITION.
Portions of Verification Reports are generated by AI systems. AI-generated content — including risk scores, recommendations, pricing estimates, and photo analysis — may contain errors, inaccuracies, or omissions. Such content is provided for informational purposes only and should not be treated as definitive or as the sole basis for any purchasing decision. We strongly recommend supplementing any Verification Report with your own independent research and, where appropriate, a professional mechanical inspection.
We do not control and are not responsible for the accuracy, completeness, or timeliness of data obtained from government sources (MOT, DVLA, RDW, APK). Government records may contain errors, omissions, or delays. Our presentation and analysis of such data does not constitute an endorsement or verification of its accuracy.
The Service may contain links to or integrate with third-party services, including online vehicle listing platforms and payment processors (Stripe). We are not responsible for the content, accuracy, availability, or practices of any third-party services. Our retrieval of publicly available listing information at your direction does not imply any affiliation with, endorsement by, or partnership with any third-party listing platform.
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, IN NO EVENT SHALL EVENGRID B.V., ITS DIRECTORS, OFFICERS, EMPLOYEES, AGENTS, CONTRACTORS (INCLUDING INSPECTORS), OR AFFILIATES BE LIABLE FOR ANY:
REGARDLESS OF THE THEORY OF LIABILITY (CONTRACT, TORT, NEGLIGENCE, STRICT LIABILITY, OR OTHERWISE), EVEN IF WE HAVE BEEN ADVISED OF THE POSSIBILITY OF SUCH DAMAGES.
OUR TOTAL AGGREGATE LIABILITY FOR ALL CLAIMS ARISING FROM OR RELATING TO THESE TERMS OR THE SERVICE SHALL NOT EXCEED THE GREATER OF: (A) THE TOTAL AMOUNT YOU ACTUALLY PAID TO US FOR THE SPECIFIC SERVICE GIVING RISE TO THE CLAIM DURING THE TWELVE (12) MONTHS PRECEDING THE CLAIM, OR (B) ONE HUNDRED EUROS (€100).
THE LIMITATIONS IN THIS SECTION APPLY EVEN IF ANY REMEDY FAILS OF ITS ESSENTIAL PURPOSE AND TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW.
Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability that cannot legally be excluded or limited under applicable law, including but not limited to:
To the extent permitted by applicable law, you agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless Evengrid B.V., its directors, officers, employees, agents, contractors, and affiliates from and against any claims, damages, losses, liabilities, costs, and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising from or relating to:
This indemnification obligation does not apply to the extent that the claim arises from our own negligence, wilful misconduct, or breach of these Terms.
These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the Netherlands, without regard to its conflict of law principles.
Subject to Sections 14.3 and 14.4, any disputes arising from or relating to these Terms or the Service shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the competent courts of Amsterdam, the Netherlands.
If you are a consumer habitually resident in the European Union, you benefit from the mandatory provisions of consumer protection law in your country of residence. Nothing in these Terms affects your rights under such mandatory provisions, including but not limited to the EU Consumer Rights Directive (2011/83/EU), the EU Unfair Contract Terms Directive (93/13/EEC), and the EU Consumer Sales and Guarantees Directive. You may bring legal proceedings in the courts of your country of residence.
If you are a consumer resident in the United Kingdom, you benefit from the mandatory provisions of UK consumer protection law, including the Consumer Rights Act 2015 and the Consumer Contracts (Information, Cancellation and Additional Charges) Regulations 2013. Nothing in these Terms affects your statutory rights under UK law. You may bring legal proceedings in the courts of England and Wales (or, if you live in Scotland, in the Scottish courts, or if you live in Northern Ireland, in the Northern Irish courts).
The European Commission’s Online Dispute Resolution (ODR) platform was discontinued on 20 March 2025 pursuant to Regulation (EU) 2024/3228 and is no longer available. If you wish to raise a complaint, please contact us directly at contact@carscreener.ai. You may also contact your national consumer protection authority or an alternative dispute resolution (ADR) body in your country of residence.
Before initiating any formal legal proceedings, you agree to contact us at contact@carscreener.ai and attempt to resolve any dispute informally within 30 days. Most disputes can be resolved quickly and amicably through direct communication.
If informal resolution is unsuccessful, either party may propose mediation through a mutually agreed mediator or through the Netherlands Arbitration Institute (NAI) mediation rules. The costs of mediation shall be shared equally between the parties unless the mediator determines otherwise.
To the extent permitted by applicable law, any claim arising from or relating to these Terms or the Service must be brought within two (2) years after the cause of action arises. This limitation does not apply where prohibited by applicable mandatory law, including applicable consumer protection legislation in the EU or the United Kingdom (for example, the five-year limitation period under Dutch law pursuant to Article 3:310 BW, or the six-year period under the Limitation Act 1980 in England and Wales).
We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time at our sole discretion. Changes will be effective upon posting to the Platform unless a later effective date is specified.
We will notify you of material changes by:
Your continued use of the Service after the effective date of modified Terms constitutes acceptance of non-material changes. For material changes that adversely affect your rights or obligations, we will request your affirmative acceptance (for example, via a click-through prompt or email confirmation). If you do not accept, you may stop using the Service without penalty. For EU and UK consumers, material adverse changes to these Terms shall not apply retroactively to orders placed before the effective date of the change.
These Terms, together with our Privacy Policy, Cookie Policy, and Disclaimer, constitute the entire agreement between you and Evengrid B.V. regarding the Service and supersede all prior or contemporaneous agreements, understandings, or representations.
If any provision of these Terms is found to be invalid, illegal, or unenforceable by a court of competent jurisdiction, the remaining provisions shall continue in full force and effect. The invalid provision shall be modified to the minimum extent necessary to make it valid and enforceable while preserving the parties' original intent.
Our failure to enforce any right or provision of these Terms shall not constitute a waiver of such right or provision. Any waiver must be in writing and signed by us to be effective.
You may not assign or transfer these Terms or any of your rights or obligations hereunder without our prior written consent. We may assign these Terms without restriction, including in connection with a merger, acquisition, corporate restructuring, or sale of all or substantially all of our assets. Any purported assignment in violation of this section is void.
We shall not be liable for any failure or delay in performing our obligations under these Terms where such failure or delay results from circumstances beyond our reasonable control, including but not limited to: natural disasters, acts of God, war, terrorism, riots, civil unrest, pandemics or epidemics, government actions or orders, labour disputes, internet or telecommunications failures, power outages, fire, flood, or failures of third-party services (including government data APIs, hosting providers, or payment processors).
These Terms do not create any third-party beneficiary rights. Inspectors listed on our marketplace are independent third parties and are not third-party beneficiaries of these Terms. The relationship between CarScreener and Inspectors is governed by separate marketplace listing terms.
Any notices required or permitted under these Terms shall be sent to us at contact@carscreener.ai. Notices to you will be sent to the email address you provided when using the Service. Notices are deemed delivered when sent by email, provided that the sender does not receive an automated delivery failure notification.
These Terms are drafted in English. If these Terms are translated into any other language, the English version shall prevail in the event of any conflict or inconsistency between the versions.
